Buoyancy variation
In the following movie, a Paramecium is immobilized and placed in the region of the magnet where the total force is pointing downwards;at this position the Paramecium is sinking. As the movie progresses, the chamber is moved to another region of the magnet where the total force on Paramecium is pointing upward; hence rising Paramecium. This is a demostration of how magnetic forces can be used to change the buoyancy of living organisms.
